Jo is travelling around the UK this Autumn running a series of 1 week long kitesurfing coaching holidays. She will be running a kitesurfing holiday on Tiree from 22nd – 29th September 2012.

Jo has booked a house at Balephetrish Bay for the trip and will be travelling to the best beach for the day based on the wind and tides. There are a maximum of 6 places available and the aim is to help you develop your kitesurfing and take it to the next level.

Jo’s kitesurfing holidays are fast paced and action packed and you can be sure there will never be a dull moment no matter what the weather, but with the trip booked for the end of September then the chance of wind are high and the water temperature will still be warm after the summer.

The trips are for intermediate kitesurfers and above. The minimum level required is a competent ability to stay upwind in 12-30 knots, be able to relaunch and be attempting your first jumps. You ready to take the plunge?

New SUP Fleet

Wild Diamond has a new fleet of Tiki SUP boards which are ideal beginners boards for surf and flat water. The boards have been getting rave reviews from clients and staff so far this season!

Additionally there are also a range of SUP’s from Tiki’s more performance oriented line with some gorgeous 9’3″, 10′ and 11′ cross over and wave boards! Here is the 9’3″ in action at Crossapol earlier this month! The little beauties are great!

Having had a chilly start to the year Easter on Tiree saw some idyllic weather conditions including perfect winds for learning to windsurf and on the less windy days perfect swell for learning to Stand-up-paddle- surf….all in the sunshine!

We had a great winter trip to Cape Town, renowned for good waves & wind (Nov-March) now Wild Diamond are all set for the 2012 season. In S.A. we tested the new Naish ‘Parks’ kites to be used for tuition this season. They are v.good! We also tested the 2012 Simmer Sails for windsurfing, now available for int/ adv courses & hire. We have a new fleet of SUPS & surfboards arriving next week which we hope to get in the water very soon.

Firing Conditions at Crossapol – 25/11/11

With only two people out, Willy (from Wild Diamond) and Tim had the conditions all to themselves for a couple of hours during the warmest part of the day. With pretty strong and steady conditions Willy was on a 4.5m2 Simmer Black Tip and 69 litre tabou pocket wave while Tim opted for a smaller/bigger combo of 4.0m2 and 78 litre tabou pocket. Waves were in the 6′ to 8′ range over the course of the session with temperatures not bad for the time of year but definitely dropping!

Kitesurfing on Tiree in November….. In sunshine!

Yes this is Tiree and we have not jetted off somewhere hot and sunny just yet! This is just a sample of what we have been getting, kite wise, for almost the last fortnight now on kites between 9.0m2 and 7.0m2 sizes and warying wave heights…

Long may the warm south easterlies continue!
